But I knew my parents would be understanding and supportive because they have had LGBTQ+ friends my whole life. Both of my parents have always been vocal about accepting people for who they are. I knew I was extremely lucky for having open minded parents and family and for not being disowned for my sexuality and thrown out on the streets.
