PFLAG Sandy Springs works to create a caring, just, and affirming world for lesbian, gay, double attraction, transgender, and gender non-conforming (LGBTQ+) people in the Sandy Springs, Georgia area. We support families, inform allies, and advocate for equality through our network of supporters, members, and fellow chapters.

PFLAG Sandy Springs serves communities in the northern suburbs of Atlanta, including Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Roswell, and Alpharetta. We host support groupson the first Tuesday of every month for teens, LGBTQ+ adults, and friends/family.

Our July meeting will be July 1st at pm, and our August gathering will be August 5th at pm at Congregation B&#;nai Torah.

PFLAG Atlanta promotes the health and well-being of queer woman , gay, bisexual, and trans people, their families, and friends through support, learning, and advocacy. 

 

Our major back activities include two facilitated monthly support groups.  We educate the public through a Speakers Bureau and participation in Atlanta Event . In partnership with national and local organizations, we advocate to secure identical rights for the LGBTQ community.

PFLAG provides an opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender culture and acts to construct a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity

Assessing Cultural Diversity & Cultural Competency of Organizations Serving Georgia’s LGBT (Lesbian, Same-sex attracted, Bisexual, Transgender) Older Adults

Thank you for your interest in exploring your organization’s level of inclusiveness of LGBT older adults within your programs and services. Many LGBT older adults often stay hidden within the mainstream Aging population and remain fearful of seeking out needed services. This fear is often based on years of discrimination and/or unacceptance from health and social service providers as well as peers and other members of their own community.  Many are regressing back into a life of secrecy in order to obtain the services they need.

Current estimates indicate that there are upwards of Million LGBT elders in the United States which is expected to nearly double by Given these numbers, chances are your organization is already serving LGBT older adults but may not be aware.  This growing population is seeking out programs and services that are protected, respectful, and inclusive of LGBT older adults.  The purpose of this process is to recognize

Free support group for Bi+ women. Topics incorporate coming out, identity & labels, Bi erasure, internalized homophobia, consensual non-monogamy, and Bi+ euphoria. Share your story, listen, learn, and grow alongside other Bi+ women. This group is open to all woman-identified and nonbinary sapphics who identify as Bi+ (pansexual, fluid, queer, questioning) and centers the experience of bisexual women. This is a peer-facilitated support collective organized by fellow bi+ women seeking community and support. **While this organization is a great addition to therapy, it is not considered group therapy.** (May - Dec ) More info:
