James Gunn has finally released the DC Universe&#;s upcoming slate and the fans can finally take a breath of relief. The slate will not only introduce new characters but, continue the story of many. Robert Pattinson&#;s The Batman Part II has been greenlit and would be realized in the Autumn of The first chapter of the DCU slate is called &#;Gods and Monsters&#; and will begin with Superman: Legacy.

The franchise wishes to combine the society of gaming, television, and movies as well as the world of animation and live-action. Both the series of Joker and Batman with Joaquin Phoenix and Pattinson will belong outside of the main DC universe and will be referred to as the DC Elseworlds. One of the projects that will be in the works would be The Authority.

We Need To Speak About James Gunn - Quill’s Scribbles

This could prove to be the most controversial Scribble I’ve ever written on this blog, and the sad thing is it really shouldn’t be, in my opinion.

First off, a couple of disclaimers because I know some people are going to accuse me of ‘bias’. I’ve never been very fond of James Gunn as a filmmaker, it’s true. I consideration the first Guardians Of The Galaxy movie was okay at best and I absolutely hated the sequel, but I confess that’s less to carry out with any innate flaws in the films themselves and more to perform with the evidence that I just don’t like Gunn’s style of humour. Oh don’t become me wrong. There are still legitimate problems, which I’ll go into later when they develop relevant, but I’m big enough to admit that my dislike for his brand of comedy and storytelling is merely due to my own subjective tastes (the identical is true of Taika Waititi and Thor: Ragnarok).

Okay. So. Let’s talk about James Gunn.

While Christopher Smith's sexuality was never explicitly discussed in the comics, director James Gunn says that his version of Peacemaker was "always" bisexual.

Peacemaker's bisexuality is revealed in a dark, heartbreaking moment in the first season's episode 7, when he shoots and kills his abusive father, Auggie Smith, AKA neo-nazi supervillain Pale Dragon. Moments before pulling the trigger, White Dragon berates him: "I knew you was unclean when you were born. I knew when you slept with the whores of polluted blood, and men."

The revelation made headlines as queer representation in the superhero world is few and far between. Gunn says that he and John Cena came up with the idea, and that it ultimately felt natural.

"It was me and John talking about who he is," Gunn tells Total Film. "Peacemaker is a hypersexual guy and that has led him to be a sexual omnivore in a lot of ways."

James Gunn recently announced that the Wildstorm comic The Authority will be one of DC's big blockbuster movies coming out within the first phase of his 10 year design. And anyone who's peruse The Authority comic books knows that Midnighter and Apollo are basically same-sex attracted versions of Batman and Superman.
