The Bellingham Public Library celebrates Queer Pride in June. As always, Library staff have great recommendations for books, dvds and song for all ages.

July 19 & 20

Join us for Ferndale's first ever PRIDE Festival - a weekend celebration co-sponsored by Connect Ferndale, the City of Ferndale, the Whatcom County Library System, and LGBTQ+ Western. 

Festivities will take place Saturday, July 19th and Sunday, July 20th. 

Saturday, July

Morning - Workshops hosted by Combine Ferndale: 10 am - am The Science of Gender with Linden Jordan of PFLAG Skagit, 12 pm- pm. Supporting Transgender Youth with Page from Common Goodness Project, 2 - pm Allyship with LGBTQ+ Western. 

All workshops will be held in Ferndale. Pre-registration is required, and the location of each workshop will be sent to registrants directly. 

Evening - Pride Trivia and Celebration at Fringe Brewing from 5 pm- 8 pm! 3rd Ave. There will be crafts, face paining, and giveaways AND at 6 pm join in for Pride Trivia hosted by Taryn! There will be prizes!

Pride IN Bellingham: Parade and Festival!

Join Western Washington University and Homosexual Western at the annual Pride IN Bellingham celebration! The pride events are July 8th and 9th, with our focus on the 9th!

July 8th | pm Family Picnic at Boundary Bay Brewery

July 8th | 7pmpm All Ages Dance Party at Depot Market Square Building

July 9th | 11am-1pm Pride Procession. Waypoint Park-Depot Market Square

July 9th | 12pm-2pm Pride Festival at Depot Market Square Building

We will be part of the parade on Sunday, July 9th from 11am-1pm (set up at 10am). We are welcoming anyone from the Western community to join us in the parade: students, faculty, staff, alumni, and families and friends. This includes our cisgender and straight allies. We are centering our LGBTQ+ community members as leaders in the parade. The parade begins at Waypoint Park and ends that the Depot Market Square. The walk is a little over a mile with some elevation transform. We recommend pleasant shoes. If you are joining us in the march, we encourage wearing LGBTQ+ (such as rainbow clothing) or Western gear!

Pride in Bellingham is a celebration that grows bigger and excel each year, drawing people from all walks of life to participate in the joyous event. The parade, a highlight of the city’s summer calendar, is a dynamic present of unity and help for the LGBTQIA+ society. It’s a day when the streets are filled with color, music, and a shared sense of pride.

About the Performers

Rainbow City Marching Band, Drumline, and Rainbow City Paint Guard are three of the performance ensembles of Rainbow City Performing Arts.
